1000lbs of Food

We would like to thank the following people for their involvement in a very generous donation of 1000 pounds of food for the families of deployed soldiers. A very special thanks to the family of James Ackman who made this possible! The following is an email from Mr. Ackman

Candace,

I think I have finally got everything in line. Here is a list of the people
who have lent a helping hand in coordinating this from this end:

1. The generous ladies @ the Curves for Women in Pasadena, TX donated all
the food during our Food for Friends annual food drive.

2. Lisa @ Ryder Truck Leasing is coordinating the Georgia shipment through
Ryder @ no charge! Ryder is going to do a some transferring of the pallet of
food onto the correct trucks to get it as close Lisa's location in
Hinesville, GA as possible. We are still working out the details on this
shipment.

3. Jill in customer service, Ginger Elhannon in Marketing, and John Fogel
the Pricing Manager over @ SAIA Freight have generously discounted the freight
bill and the extra add ons such as the resedential delivery and liftgate
options to get the Idaho shipment to Sherrie Capestany.

4. Broad Line Supply is covering the remaining freight costs as well as the
packaging, and shipping of the goods, along with some toilet paper and paper
towels.

The shipment to Garden City, Idaho will be shipped out today. Saia has
generously provided a residential delivery as well as a liftgate and pallet
jack
to offload the shipment when it reaches Lisa Thomas' location, so she would
not have to offload the boxes once delivered.

The shipment to Hinesville Georgia will probably be shipped out on Monday or
Tuesday, and I would like to put a phone number for the delivery address so
the company that would be dropping it off would be able to contact her to let
her know about when to expect it so she can plan accordingly. If you could
e-mail me a phone number to list on the bill of lading so they can contact
her.

As far as my affiliation, my wife, my mother, and myself own the Curves for
Women franchise in Pasadena, TX. Curves is a fitness center specifically
for women. My wife and myself also own Broad Line Supply, which is a paper and
packaging supply company. I have attached a picture of my family so you
will be able to put a face with a voice.

And if you could, give all of your support staff and the families of the
soldiers that you support a BIG Thank You from us for supporting the soldiers
and giving them both the reason and the willingness to do what they are doing.

P.S. I know that there are ongoing needs of the families you support, if
there are specific needs that you know of, let me know and I will see if there
is anything I can do to help. The more people that know about the needs, the
greater the chances of meeting them.

Here are some of the recipients of the generous donation. Half of the food went to deployed National Guardsmen's families in Idaho, the other went to families of deployed troops from Fort Stewart.
